App Smackdown- Khan Academy

    Khan Academy is a great educational resource for both students and teachers. Khan Academy is a tool that allows students to get extra practice when it comes to learning more knowledge in subjects such as math, history, science, and test prep. This tool has lots of different subjects for all age levels. The material ranges from pre-school to beyond college. A key feature of Khan Academy is how each subject is broken up. Each subject has different units. Each unit has multiple instructional videos that will allow you to learn the content at your own pace. At the end of each unit, there is a quiz that will test your knowledge. The short quiz allows you to understand if you need to rewatch the videos or move on to the next unit.

    I have personally used Khan Academy throughout the years and love it. The ability to learn at my own pace is life-changing. I always struggled with keeping up with my teachers. By having this additional resource, I was able to stay on track and better my education. This tool is just as beneficial in college, as it was in both middle school and high school. For me, this tool is especially useful when it comes to studying for the Praxis tests. It's been a decade since I took elementary science, math, history, reading, and writing. By using Khan Academy, I can go back to the elementary sections and refresh my memory. I would recommend this application to anyone who needs to take Praxis testing.

    In the future, I plan on using Khan Academy in my professional career. I plan on becoming a teacher, and Khan Academy has an educator profile available. Within this mode, you can add your class and assign material. You are given the ability to track your classes' progress and make sure everyone is one the path they need to be. By using this resource, if you notice most students are struggling with specific topics, it may be best to go back and spend more time on that material. Due to this, I plan on using Khan Academy as a weekly homework task to check in on my student's learning.

    Hi! Khan Academy is great, and you did a great job of explaining its benefits. I used this app to study for my Praxis and it worked great. This can be a great tool used in the classroom as it can help students prepare for upcoming tests. I love that it allows students to work at their own pace. Great breakdown and app.

Good Websites vs Bad Websites When it comes to good websites and bad websites, it's important to know the basics of what differentiates the two. It is important to make sure the website includes the following...  Is there a purpose?  Is it easy to navigate?  Is it relevant?  Is it pleasing to look at? For this topic, I decided to compare the following two websites and compare their strengths and weaknesses. For the sake of this experiment, I decided to look up the word "bee" and attached the link that the website would then bring you. Wikipedia  (Good) Encyclopedia  (Bad) My findings were that Wikipedia was good, whereas the encoyclopedia.com website was bad.  I made this decision based on how well each website performed.
